Since 1993 Alan Scott Pate has established himself as the premier dealer and authority on ningyo (antique Japanese dolls) outside of Japan. He has built a reputation supplying the highest quality ningyo to discerning collectors and museums the world over. His gallery is dedicted to the sale of the highest quality Japanese dolls from the Edo Period (1612-1868), Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho Eras (1912-1926). With a particular specialization in ichimatsu and sosaku (art dolls) from the 1930s by the foremost artists of the period such as Hirata Goyo II (Tsuneo, 1903-1981), Takizawa Koryusai II (1888-1966) and Iwamura Shokensai (Toko, 1892-1968).
