Japanese Isho-ningyo depicting Jurojin, the god of longevity, one of the seven lucky gods of Japanese popular culture, depicted standing with iconic staff in left hand, a scroll in his right, wearing “exotic” Chinese-style robes to communicate his divinity, of rich green silk brocade with silk tasseled sleeve closures and ruffled edges, black velvet accents, billowing silk crepe trousers and brocade boots,wearing his signature tall cap of silk crepe and brocade accents, head of wood covered in gofun with painted details, impish expression, mounted on a black lacquer base (replaced), minor fading, wear and staining to textiles, loss of hair, staff separated at grip.
