Japanese isho-ningyo grouping of a sumo bout, featuring two well-rendered wrestlers and a referee, all executed with an unusual amount of realism with folds of flesh and exaggerated features, the two wrestlers depicted wearing loin cloths, the referee in silk brocades. Wood and wood composite covered in a pigmented gofun with painted details. Displayed on a black lacquered base.
