Large Gosho-ningyo with Box

Large Seated Gosho Ningyo, rare and unusually large figure of a seated boy depicted with one leg forward and one leg back, holding a lacquered box tied with silk cords in his right hand and a closed fan in his left, clothed in a blue silk kimono(replaced), large fleshy body carved entirely of wood and covered in a fine gofun, face with very bright, expressive features with large eyes rounded at top, small mouth, chin crease, painted details, silk fiber hair, large lacquered cap, feet with unusual pointed heels, distinctively inflated limbs with narrow wrists and ankles giving it a pneumatic effect, sexed figure, repair to left eye, left side of mouth, crack to upper right arm, overall fine condition.
