Japanese gosho-ningyo of Momotaro, exceptionally large-scale seated figure depicted holding a Chinese-style fan wrapped in red silk crepe, left leg thrust forward and right leg tucked slight in, wearing a sleeveless vest over a silk brocade bib with black birodo velvet top, classic gosho composition with plump forearms, legs, body, and large head, carved of wood and covered in a fine white gofun with painted features, silk fiber hair with nakasori, this form of Momotaro is generally known as tenkatori momotaro or “grab the kingdom” Momotaro and refers to his robust strength, original wood storage box (missing) reading “Momotaro Gosho,” minor restorations, repair to left leg.
