Seated Gosho-ningyo with Money Mallet

Japanese gosho-ningyo carved of wood and covered overall in a fine white gofun with painted features, silk hair at temples, depicted seated with left leg tucked back behind and right foot thrust forward. wearing embroidered chirimen bib with a crane and tortoise longevity pairing,  lacquered court cap, silk fiber hair, holding in his left hand a silk covered and painted money mallet, done in a goten gangu palace toy style with ends covered in silk crepe and the gofun covered body decorated with painted images of the Mt Horai, the longevity isle with tortoise, plums, and crane designs, tasseled silk cord, fading, cracking to gofun, crack on mallet handle.
