Takeda-ningyo depicting an actor in the role of Sato Masakiyo which is a parody on the famous warrior Kato Kiyomasa (1582-1611), with left leg on a stump and right leg thrust forward, wearing a lacquered paper suit of armor, sleeveless silk brocade vest with embroidered black velvet lapels, under kimono with silk crepe sleeves bearing elaborate embroidered flower design in a bold blue, face of wood covered in gofun with dramatic and exaggerated features, painted details, silk fiber hair, tall lacquered paper eboshi cap with signature circle bowstring winder design, tall battle standard with same design and silk streamers mounted in a red lacquered battle standard rack, Minor fading, staining to back, losses, overall fine condition.
