Dramatic Takeda-ningyo featuring the famous seisatsu mie (sign-board pose) from the kabuki drama Chronical of the Battle of Ichinotani Act III: Kumagai Jinya (Kumagai’s Battle Camp), well-carved scowling face with painted details, silk fiber hair and topknot, holding a large sign board which reads: “If you break off one branch of this tree, one of your fingers will be cut off”,  nagabakama trousers and standing at the head of staircase, sleeves of outer kimono are thrown off revealing inner kimono with elaborately embroidered sleeves with cresting wave on a beach pattern, black velvet details, metal appliqué butterflies down the front, sign board with silver leaf and black ink inscription. loss to topknot, flaking to signboard.
