Japanese Takeda-ningyo depicting Otohime, the Undersea Dragon Princess, shown standing on a rock outcrop, amidst crashing waves of papier-mâché, wearing a while silk brocade kariginu outer jacket with sleeves thrown back to reveal densely embroidered silk crepe under kimono bearing designs of a peacock in flight with flared wings doen in gold-wrapped thread, holding a Chinese style fan in her right hand and box containing time in her left, head of wood covered in gofun with painted details including green lower lip, silk fiber hair  with floral crown and metal kanzashi ornaments,, mounted on a black lacquer base with front aperture cloth, fading,  overall fine condition.
