Japanese Takeda-ningyo depicted the ill-fated lover, Shii-no Shosho, a handsome youth with bright expression, white gofun with painted details including okimayu skybrows indicating his affiliation with the imperial court in Kyoto, standing atop tall lacquered geta, wearing a broad-brimmed hat, simulated straw rain cape, wearing purple hakama trousers with white embroidered roundels in the court yusoku style, light blue silk brocade outer kimono with repeated designs, sleeves thrown back to reveal silk crepe inner kimono with sleeves bearing a repeated diamond pattern, mounted on a classic Takeda base with inscription underneath indicating figure as Fukakusa no Shosho, minor wear, crack at ankles, overall fine condition.
