Takeda-ningyo of Soga Brothers

Pair of Takeda-ningyo depicting the Soga Brothers in mirrored poses, heads of wood covered in gofun, exaggerated features, painted details, silk fiber hair, both wearing sleeveless Chinese-style vests, black velvet details, the elder Juro posed with his left foot on a rock,  a Chinese fan in his left hand, under kimono with black velvet sleeves covered in a gold thread mesh, the younger Goro with right foot on a rock, under kimono sleeves of silk crepe embroidered with a kaeawase shell game box battle standard with chrysanthemum emblem, wear to textiles, chip to Goro’s nose, hair replaced.
