Takeda-ningyo of a spear carrier and carrying an black and gold lacquered oibako pack, holding a long handled yari spear in his right hand capped with a green felt spear cover, head of wood covered in gofun with painted details and silk fiber hair in a topknot with a large circular cap, sleeveless vest with black velvet details, under kimono with red cotton sleeves and large embroidered flower designs, additional embroidered details piqued out in an aniline purple thread, loss to topknot, wear to textiles, overall fine condtion.

17” x 11” x 8” Late Edo/Early Meiji, mid-late 19th Century.
