Japanese takeda-ningyo of a samurai warrior holding a spear, depicted with left foot thrust forward, left handing holding a spear canted sharply to the right, clothed in blue silk brocade outer kimono with dragon and cloud design and a green silk brocade coat with outer sleeves both thrown back to reveal inner kimono with silk crepe sleeves embroidered with a flower and rock design, black velvet details, stylized cuirass breastplate of silk crepe with embroidered details, head of wood covered in gofun with an unusually full and rounded face, painted details including kumadori makeup for the Kabuki stage, silk fiber hair, mounted on a black lacquer base with a front aperture cloth, fading, losses to velvet, crack to base, overall fine condition.
