Takeda-ningyo of a Bijin pulling a tai-guruma cart, takeda images of women typically relate to nagauta dance interludes performed during longer kabuki performances, here a beautiful woman dressed in a long sleeved kimono with elaborately embroidered sleeves, wearing a purple silk brocade outer jacket with sleeves thrown back, a lacquered paper court cap is elegantly posed with left foot slightly extended and dipping back to her right, pulls an auspicious tai-guruma cart of papier-mâché holding a tai (red sea bream), round face of wood covered in gofun with painted features, silk fiber hair, simply rendered hands, fading, losses to sea bream lacquer, mounted on a takeda-style lacquered wood base.
