Japanese Takeda-ningyo featuring an unidentified warrior holding the magical uchide no kozuchi (money mallet), positioned with left leg on a stump and right leg thrust forward, holding a Chinese-style fan in his right hand and holding aloft the money-mallet in his left, silk brocade sleeveless outer vest in the Chinese style with ruffled lapels and bearing banded designs of cranes and peonies, with embroidered black velvet collar, under kimono sleeves with bold embroidered peony design, front with black velvet band bearing gold metal appliqué butterflies, finely formed head of wood covered in gofun with painted details and silk fiber hair done in a topknot, minor signs of wear, overall fine condition.
