Takeda with Club

Japanese takeda-ningyo unidentified warrior figure holding aloft a giant club, dramatically positioned with left leg on a stump and right leg thrust out, contorted position with well formed face covered in gofun with painted features, silk fiber hair and a formed topknot, depicted with a sleeveless silk brocade outer coat with fringed lapels in the Chinese style, under kimono with silk crepe sleeves bearing a densely embroidered design of a ship on waves with black velvet accents, black velvet accents with metal butterfly appliqué, long club made of papier-mâché held in left hand and extending far to the right, losses, exposed structure in back, overall fine condition.
