Japanese musha-ningyo warrior doll of Fujiwara Kamatari (614-669), founder of the Fujiwara Clan, depicted seated on a tatami dais, clad in a dark silk brocade surcoat with silvered lacquered paper armor with descending fuji wisteria crest, head of wood covered in gofun with painted features including okimayu (skybrows) indicating his noble station, wearing a court cap with oikake side blinders and a tall woven ei tail at the back, black birodo trim, accompanied by a kneeling banner man, a spear fence, wood framed tatami base, original box reading “Fujiwara Kamatari” with interior date of Bunsei 8, 5th month (1825), minor fading, losses to lacquer, Figure: 12-1/2” High (Overall 16”)
