Japanese Meiji Era Daki-ningyo Huggable Doll, depicting an infant dressed in a purple/gray chirmen silk crepe kimono with red lining and floral bursts, sporting a mamoribako charm bag at its hip with the face of Daikoku (the god of daily wealth) painted on its side, secured by a gourd-shaped netsuke toggle, articulated wrists and ankles, head of toso covered in a lightly pigmented gofun, inset glass eyes, deep open mouth with protruding tongue, light blue pigment on head to show that the hair has been shaved leaving only a small lightly painted forelock, well formed hands with two middle finger flexed in ward, working voice box, minor signs of wear to sash tie at back, ankle joints stiff, overall fine condition, 18” High
