Japanese Mitsuore ningyo by Eitokusai III (Yamakawa Yasujiro, 1864-1941), excellent example of a Tokyo-style triple-jointed doll (mitsuore) , articulated body with hip, knee and anklel joints, clothed in a formal kimono, haori and hakama trouser combination bearing designs of Bugaku musical instruments and accessories, well-executed face with the distinctive Eitokusai open mouth revealing teeth, human hair, white gofun, finely formed hands and feet with good detailing. The important Eitokusai lineage was founded in the Meiji Era. Minor wear to hakama, overall excellent condition, 18” High.
